Keittiöjuttuja / Kitchen stuff

Hei kaikki! Toivottavasti ette pahastu, että en aio puhua teille säilytysongelmista. Lupaan kirjoittaa myöhemmin aiheesta "Säilytysongelmia II", mutta teidän täytyy malttaa odottaa hetki (koska minun täytyy ensin ratkaista omat säilytysongelmani :) Sen sijaan jaan teille nyt muutamia kuvia keittiömme uusista pikkujutuista. Ensiksikin, ostin tuon suloisen tarjottimen ja nuo mustat tabletit Indiskasta. Aion käyttää tarjotinta hedelmävatina. Raahasin myös tuon mustan pinnatuolin vaatekaapistamme koristamaan keittiötä. Näyttää oikeastaan aika kivalta.

Hello everyone! I hope you don't mind that I am not going to talk about storage problems today. I promise I will write a post titled "Storage problems II" but you'll have to wait a while (because first I need to solve my own storage problems :) Instead, I want to share you some pictures of the new things in our kitchen. To begin with, I bought that adorable tray and those black placemats at Indiska. I'm going to use the tray as a fruit bowl. I also moved that black chair from our closet to decorate the kitchen (in Finland we call those kinds of chairs "spoke chairs" but honestly I don't know what the corresponding English word is). I think it actually looks quite nice.



Ostin kolme korttia muutama kuukausi sitten, ja nyt pistin yhden niistä jääkaapin oveen. Oikeastaan ostin sen, koska teksti sopii minulle kuin nakutettu: "Joskus pysähtyminen on ainoa keino päästä eteenpäin". Kehystin toiset kaksi korttia ja laitoin ne keittiön tauluhyllylle. Niissä on myös ihanat tekstit: "Todellinen tutkimusmatkailija katsoo tuttuja paikkoja uusin silmin" ja "Ihmiset tekevät kaupungin, rakentavat talot, täyttävät kadut, jättävät jalanjälkensä asfalttiin". Isommassa kuvassa alhaalla komeilee minun uusi kahvipurkkini, jonka äiti antoi minulle etukäteissynttärilahjana.


I bought three postcards a couple of months ago and now I put one of them on the fridge door. Actually I bought that because the text suits me so well: "Sometimes stopping is the only way to go forward". I framed the two other postcards and put them on our kitchen picture shelf. These are my free translations of the texts on those cards: "A real explorer looks familiar places with new eyes" and "People create the city, build the houses, fill the streets, leave their footsteps on the asphalt" In the bigger picture below you can see the cute coffee canister my mom gave me as an early birthday present.

I also bought that ecological dishcloth (such a nice picture on it!) and those Marimekko's new tea towels (Puistotie and Metropoli) last week. Those fabrics are actually celebrating Helsinki, the World Design Capital 2012. Check out the other products here.
